Cen Cal Baseball Program

Fresno World of Baseball's Travel Team baseball program, which plays under the name "Central California Cougars" (Cen Cal) was initiated in 2008. Our program is a development program designed to teach young ball players the proper ways to play the game. We focus on skills development, team concept, sportsmanship, and having fun! Baseball is played all throughout the world now and players are receiving better coaching with more training tools and game opportunities than ever before. Our program is the type of program serious players need to get a leg up on th competition around the valley and around the globe.

A realistic goal for most players (and their perants) is to start on a high school varsity team. Although we focus on baseball, many of the skills we teach are transferable to other sports, and our program prepares players for other sports and indeed other aspects of life. We coach with high school baseball and other sports as he goal. Any baseball or other sports after high school, with or without a scholarship, should be appreciated as a bonus, not expected. Cen Cal Baseball is committed to start teaching high school caliber baseball at the earliest age

• Non-parent coaches
• Well-run practices -- 2 per week
• Proper skill development; realistic assesment and feedback
• Minimal team politics -- attitude and hard work determine results
• Teaching correct team concepts -- cut plays, relays, backing up thorws, etc.
• First-class traning center and equipment

The actual baseball Cen Cal producers is what you see when you watch a major league baseball game. We do not, for example, have our 9 year olds steal every time because catchers connot throw anyone out. We teach a very fundamental style of baseball where we keep it simple and to-the-point. Every element of the game is important. We take just as much pride in teaching a right fielder to back uop first every time as we do teaching players how to drive the ball into the gaps. We do not only want the most talented kids, but we stive for the most passionate. Cen Cal has confidence that we will teach any kid how to be a ball player as long as they desire to work hard.
